The Preliminary task was done for the purpose of experimenting and getting to grips with the equipment. how the camera operates and different shots we were capable of taking, also to find out who is best suited for the jobs of editor and camera operator
we decided on an idea of a character being on the run and hiding as it allowed us to use a variety of angles and shots and the tempo and speed of action could be changed as this scenario is common in the thriller genre and will be helpful in when we create our final thriller
High angle point of viewpan shot
When selecting production roles we
found that I would be a definite actor as I have experience in the particular
field and are capable of portraying the desired role. I will also take and the
role of editor although the editing will be divided up between me and onat other roles we found due to this task was camera lady. we established that Jessica was best skilled with the camera and possessed the skill needed to take on this role.
creating this task was helpful towards our group as it allowed us to establish a few of the best roles for creating our thriller. we also discovered what angles movents and shot sizes worked well and what didnt work so well. also the task gaves us all a chance to attempt what we will specialise in allowing us to get a head start on working together to creating a magnificent and effective thriller
Costume in a film is used for establishing characters whether it be hero, villain, upper class, lower class or victim. Costume is used to represent this and make the character easier to read and determine what there goals are. it is also used to determine what genre the film is for example having old victorian dresse will mean it is a period film and characters wearing combat uniforms could mean action or war.
The character luke skywalker from the film Star Wars wears a loose fitted shirt with utility belt with white trousers and combat boots. this typicall means that the genre of the film is action sci fi due to his gadgets on utility belt loose fitting clothes meaning he needs to be nimble for a fight. Also the fact that he is wearing white represents him being a hero.
The mysterious ghost faced killer from Scream wears a black hooded cloack with a mask hideing his identity along with gloves and black boots. not only is the black colour of his costume conventional to thrillers he is also in a cloak representing the thrilling figure of a ghost.
Officer John Mcclane wears a rough white open shirt with white vest that represent good and a hero also combat trousers this represent a strong protaganist character that is ready for action he also has a LAPD badge on a chain around his neck signifying he is an officer of the law and holds authority and power. The audience respond to his costume as a reflection of hiss attitude a rugged cop who is capable of handaling difficult situations.
Costume
in this scene is conventional to its genres stereotype as the audience witness
their protagonist wearing an all-white suit white shoes and white gloves. White
represents good and purity so this automatically makes the audience take
Preston side due to the conventional outfit. The antagonists who fight Preston
however are all dressed in black leather whereas the lead antagonist in the
large room wears an all-black suit with black shoes. This clearly represents
how the antagonist and protagonist are opposites and are enemies. The use of suits and leather represents wealth
and uniform. This information is received by the audience, making the narrative
easy to follow. When the audience see white, they associate Preston with a
saviour figure in constant to the antagonists black uniform which they
associate with evil.
Cinematography
is important in films because as a variety of shots make up interesting an effective scenes I believe it is important to think about the
cinematography, especially in thriller films because and using a certain type of camera shot or camera movement can make the scene all the more thrilling for the audience the difference between having a low angle making the protagonist seem dominant and a high angle making the protagonist seem weak makes all the difference in creating the desired response from the audience of fear for the weak protagonist or joy for the strong accomplished protagonist. Some
of the conventional uses of cinematography in thrillers are made up of shot sizes for example close ups camera angles like low angles and movement like pan shots.
a close up shot is conventional to thrillers as they can be used to capture all the detail on the faces on a victim in agonising pain or being petrified. the low angle can also be used in the same way to represent strength and uneven dominance used to evoke the emotion from the audience of fear for anyone that will have to face them. a pan shot can be used to capture all of one movement it shows all the detail in that movement and may reveal important information.
The cinematography I plan to use in my thriller consists of
the following:
1. Close-up will be used when we introduce our main character as we have a close up shot to shot the confusion and fear on her face we used this shot as its both conventional and effective hoping to evoke a balance of confusion and concern from the audience.
2. A high angle shot will also be used to assert the dominance of the antagonists over the protagonist while she is laid on the table looking up at the the villains tied up. the response we hope the audience will have will be fear for the victims safety.
3.establishing shot displaying the area setting the scene and creating an atmosphere. the establishing shot will be of the boarded up house making the house seem abandoned and secluded.
4. A long shot will be used when our antagonist is at her table and in the background have her stalkers watching her in secret the shot Will make her look defenceless clueless and oblivious.
5. Pan shot will be effectively used in our thriller to keep track of the action and display the area and how unsafe and vulnerable she is capturing all her nervous steps highlighting her body language as she walks through the bare park.
6. Zoom shot will be used to highlight the claustrophobic atmosphere the innocent protagonist is feeling when she is cornered by the villains. this will show her fear and show detailed emotion on her face
7. A mid shot will be used in the making of a thriller to show the antagonists huddled and planning on the helpless protagonist well being. the mid shot will make the audience feel apart of the scene as the view would be the size they would get in that situation.
Body language and facial expressions is one element from mise en scene made up of 5 different aspects. body language and facial expressions are used to show the emotions and the type of character is. This can be shown through a variety of methods for example an open body posture shows that the character is welcoming and friendly and a scared facial expression can represent fear.
Body language
The use of body language is key in punctuating a genre and sub genre: for example:
martial arts action
The protagonist Bruce lee has a well toned lean and strong body, leading the audience to believe that he is capable of fighting a lot of battle that will come his way. he is also in a stance that enhances the feeling of power as he looks ready for a fight.
Action Adventure Crime
The protagonist in Sherlock Holmes holds a stance where he seams confident and calm, the traits an audience expect from an investigator and makes the genre clear. his hands in his pockets also represent his care free nature and makes the audience question if he is the man for the job.
Thriller drama
fantine in les miserables is sitting alone with her hands between her legs with a hunched back. Her closed posture shows that she is unhappy and portrait a little extra information about her feelings. the audience see this and feel sympathy towards her.
facial expressions
The use of facial expression in film is important for when a characters feelings need to be shown without dialogue, examples of this is:
Action sci-fi
The hero of this film "The Terminator" has a very stern and macho facial expression. he appears focused with his jaws clenched and no smile he looks aggressive and as though he is on a mission.
Crime Thriller
Antagonist the joker from the dark knight is a sociopath with a sadistic look on dis face which imply he has evil and wicked intent on his mind, this is inferred from his cheeky and disturbing smile and gaze.
Horror
Jason fro Friday the 13th wears a mask hiding all facial features and identity. this makes the audience feel like this psycho murderer can kill without flinching showing no emotion. his piercing gaze adds to his terrifying persona.
Equilibrium analysis
The
facial expressions of the protagonist are especially important as his face is exposed,
whilst the villains wear tinted helmets hiding all facial expressions. This
creates a sense of mystery around the villains leading the audience to question
if the enemies are simply emotionless machines that do not have any remorse or emotions,
thus making Preston stand out as the audience can relate to and respond to his
emotions. His facial expressions reveal a message of determination and
seriousness. The audience are given a glimpse of this just before he begins his
attack as he composes himself, which the audience respond to with excitement
and nail biting nervousness due to the velocity of the situation. The body
language in the scene displays that all of the villains have the same intent. This
is because all of the characters are specially trained officers who are in
combat and are prepared for an attack with high performance, agility and power.
Preston has also been trained in the same way, so he shares similar body
language. For the audience witnessing this allows them to infer that the
showdown will be epic due to him fighting men who are on his physical level. This
increases the audiences concern for his safety as each solider is a reflection
of his own physical ability.
openig credits are te pieces of written information used at the begining of a film to introduce the starring lead actor(s) and main crew in creating th film e.g producer and director. An effective opening will display sounds to intensify the mood creating an appropriate atmospher and shots that dont make complete sense leaving the audience intreaged as to what is happening.
The "Se7en" opening use all the criteria to making an outstanding opening credits due to a quality variety of distorting sounds and images, including fonts in the written credits. the use of low key lighting is apparent throughout the opening. This being used tells the audience what to expect as the distorting, mysterious shots and low key lighting are all popular conventions of the thriller genres. however the quick cuts do not allow the audience to keep hold of whats going on and as a result leave them guessing wanting to know more.
The audience is additionaly shown the main cast of the film advertising the big hollywood stars adding to the hyped up expectation of the film. these factors all contribute to intensifying the tension built into the opening.
These openining credits also show hints to what the film will involve but only small glimpses. for example there are shots of religious symbols blades and pictures all in small cuts placed throughout the start confusing the audience. seeing this allows the audience to infer what kind of themes will appear in te film allowing the viewer to prepare themeselves.
Typography
typography is everything to do with the format of the text. for example colour, size, location and order the text wil appear. the style of font used in "se7en" is diffrent and strange following the generic convention of distortian in a thriller.
Stigmata is a thriller film with the sub genre religion, making it conventional to have the text in an old fashion font from a bible or religious book. The words on screen are from what appears to be bible passags that then mold together and creates the name of the media institution actors name or crew member. This is effective as its a genric convention and makes the audience engage more as the feel the build up increase.
Iconography is 1 element of mise en scene and is all the props used on stage to create a detailed atmosphere. Iconography is used in a variety of ways to communicate the message of a scene. for examle having a bare room with a candle can show some sort of entrappment. iconography can be anything from weapons, rubble, trees, buildings, cutlery, gadgets and even blood.
Iconography
in the house of mirrors scene is extremely conventional to the action thriller
genre. We have the use of swords guns and blood. In this shot the iconography
excels due to how the detailed props are littered around the room. In this one
shot we see dead bodies on the floor swords lying around and a gun. The props
give the impression of a chaotic battlefield and are what illustrates the
aftermath of the occurred assault. Setting is the glue to this scene as the set
is a wealthy looking tower owned by the enemy. The fact that the building is
owned by the enemy emphasizes the bravery of the daring protagonist. Also the
building being a wealthy one makes the battle more interesting as the enemy may
have the money to by powerful resources of defence. All these factors this
setting contains add up to the reason why the audience will question John
Prestons’ safety.
iconography in this shot is all the more significant due to empty setting.the use of uns shows a battle and struggle and effectively portraits this to the audience making the viewer feel a surge of excitement and adrenaline due to this high tension scene.
the role of iconography in this clip is very important as we see the placing of objects playing a huge part in creating an exciting scene. smashed glass on the floor of the scene is used to create a dangerous eniroment making the characters in the area apear daring and brave. the audience respond to this with fear and concern for the protaginsts safety.
another key prop used in this scene would be what the scene is based around and is the injection gun. as the antidote is inside a gun apparatus means that the chemical is powerful as well as important. this allows the audience to question the importance of the object and the velocity of the situation the gun has brought this then amplifies the tension in the scene.
the implications of iconography i will take away to use in the producing of my own thriller would be that every prop on screen should need a meaning and how the message may be changed if there is a misplaced object
a storyboard is a sequence of drawings to map out the events of a script.it helps to plan out how the director would like in there screen play. a storyboard is important in producing a screen play because it allows the director to easily construct a story to map out an interesting screen play. its also very useful to use a storyboard because images can explain whats going on better than thousands of words. the board mainly gives an outline of the end product after filming and is a guide line on how the plot and narrative unfold.
when planning an effective storyboard important key elements from paticular micro-elments need to be considered. these micro-elements like cinematography sound going on in the scene and elements of mise en scene. for example in this storyboard the use of close-ups are frequently used from this we know that a lot of the story will involve emotion and facial expressions. also the storyboard acts as a guideline to represent the unfolding plot.
Age certificates are given to movies by the bbfc as they see what age category suits best. the role of the bbfc is to protect the public from any content that may be harmful to the viewers. There are 6 age classifications given by the bbfc to help regulate suitable content for viewers this is also a way society can gauge what is appropriate for a young child to watch.
those classifications are
U - universal. [Dr. Seuss The Lorax]- This age rating should be suitable to people of all ages, however it is impossible to determine what may offend people but should be acceptable to view by all. films that are Universal rated usually are a good counter balance to thrillers and horrors.
PG - Parent guidance. [Brave]- Material likely wont harm children aged 8 or over however children of any age may watch, parents should look into the film and decide weather the content is suitable for their child to watch.
12 - 12 or over. [King Kong]- Only people age 12 or over can view the film. the material can only be bought by someone over 12 and the content will not be suitable for anyone else under the age of 12
12A - 12 or with an adult. [Spider-man]- suitable for children and adults aged 12 and over however children under the age of 12 can view the film if accompanied by adult and the parent sees the content suitable for the child.
15 - 15 or over. [Scream 4]- The material that can be used in a "15" can contain controversial topics. a moderated amount of bad language and some nudity can be shown but only where appropriate. violent scenes can be implemented but must not be dwell on..
18 - 18 or over. [Scream]- Content may involve criminal law violent acts illegal drugs but this must not demoralise or ham as that content may face a cut censoring the content. explicit shots of sexual acts can be shown as well as bad language
Spider man introduces new age certificate
The 12A rating is the latest rating released by the bbfc after a debate about whether children under 12 should be aloud to watch the film. Originally the film was a 12 meaning yu must be 12 or over to watch the film. due to the violent nature of the film. the debate started as kids under the age of 12 waned to watch
the film as Spider-man was an iconic figure hero for the younger public so a way younger children could view the film was devised. they created 12A so children could watch Spider-man as long as they where accompanied by an adult.
conclusion for my thriller
Thrillers tend to get an age rating of "15" as thriller films usually contain an acceptable amount of explicit content
According to my external research 10 out of 10 thrillers where age rated a "15" this gives me an idea for the target audience my thriller will need to cater to as well as what i can include in the making of the thriller i would be able to show violence but not dwell on the topic.
the British Board of Film Censorship (bbfc) is the board that approve weather a film is suitable to be viewed in the country. anything that may harm or prove offensive can be censored cut or even banned all together.
"Saw" had been cut several times before allowed to be shown in cinemas due to harmful content there may have been in the uncut original film.
the role of the bbfc is important to the film industry as if it was not a system to regulate what is shown on screen, film will get a bad name as extremely offensive material could get through and offend the public, also film can be very influential and pointless acts of violence in films that is not censored can be seen as acceptable actions in real life. So the bbfc protects the audience.
Violence
graphic representation and realism
Corrupt the young
Controversy and the Press
Sex and Nudity
Sexual violence
Religion
Class
Language
Shock
Drug abuse
The list above are all topics in a film that can have the film cut/censored
or even banned. Although these themes are apparent in films no it is
only when these topic are exploited to an extreme extent that it becomes
harmful to viewing public.
films that are banned by the bbfc does not mean they can never be shown in the world it means it cannot be shown in Britain unless the content can be justified.
The film Grotesque was banned from the U.K for the disturbing torture scenes this was the main reasons for the ban
A clockwork orange was a film that was banned for 26 years before it was shown in the U.K due to the controversial and explicit scenes.and extreme graphic rape and violent scenes.
the information gathered from this lesson will teach me the boundaries of how graphic the content of my thriller can be
In the
opening scene of scream who have the begging of one of the arguably greatest
slashers of all time. In the opening we have our innocent victim Casey played
by drew Barrymore is home alone and about to watch a scary movie. She’s about
to make some popcorn when she is deterred with a phone call from a mysterious character
that names himself peewee who has mistakenly called her. She hangs up, and
after he calls back and they get into a conversation and after some time she
becomes more and more afraid. she then panics and locks the doors by then its
too late and is on her way to a bloody and gory death.
Sound
The use
of sound in the opening scene is used extremely effectively this is done
through techniques like diegetic sound. The use of diegetic sound is used in
the scene where the phone is ringing. this is diegetic sound because the sound
comes from the film world and not edited in. the sound of the phone ringing is
a sound that is heard in the audiences day to day lives, allowing the viewer to
relax and feel comfortable leaving the viewer in a state where they are
susceptible to terror lurking later on in the scene.
Parallel sound is also used to
make the scene as effective as it is. This technique is used when we have our
antagonist on the phone to Casey. The parallel sound was used to hide the
identity of the killer creating suspense and mystery behind the character. The
response this gets from the audience is that which the feel on edge due to the
mystery to the character. this makes the scene extra thrilling as mystery is a common convention of a thriller.
We have on screen sound used in this scene to make the scene interesting. This happens when we visibly see the popcorn burning and the sound of this happening. this is done so we see that Casey is showing signs of neglect meaning her mind is somewhere else. This heightens the concern the audience has for Casey as she is afraid.
non-diegetic sound is also used where heavy drumming kicks in to build tension. This happens after Casey grabs a knife to protect herself. The drumming signifies a heart beat and how Casey is scared and fearing for her lif. The drumming makes us fear for her safety.
Cinematography
Cinematography is how the frame is shot it is used to capture the detail of a shot so we can gather more information about the scene. different aspects of the scene mean the audience can respond in a variety of ways.
Cinematography is effectively used in this scene at the beginning where we have Casey answering the telephone. the mid close-up we have in this scene displays a clear view of emotion of our victim, Casey. She appears to be cheerful, we know this because the mid close-up captures her full facial expressions. This allows the audience a better understanding of how the victim is feeling. the audience respond to this with a warm feeling as here happiness makes the viewer welcomed.
Cinematography Is important in the opening clip as it demonstrates effective movie shots and give the audience a better understanding of the message being represented. The scene is understood easier for the use of a point of view. This is because the shot gives us a good view of the situation through Caseys' eyes. we have the point of view shot when Casey looks out her garden glass doors to briefly search for the antagonist, the fact that we see one section of the outdoor slowly then it sped up to check the next shows how scared she is and would like to get her ordeal over and done this. As the shot that is used is a point of view shot the viewer is mad to feel involved with the scene and feel the emotion the victim is feeling.
Aspects of cinematography is especially needed to capture key moments of the scene. a good example of this is the zoom shot. the zoom shot is used outstandingly when she turns the t.v of and in the corner in tears. the zoom shot is used to capture her emotion in high quality detail. the camera also makes it seem like she has been cornered and captured. this makes the audiences response stronger to her sadness.
Editing
Editing is used in a film for the construction of the film. Editing weaves scenes and shots together to create an amazing film. the speed and style can be manipulated through Editing to make the scene shot or entire movie excellent.
in this clip the style of editing is very conventional because of the scene starting slow paced and builds up .the length of each shot in the beginning is quite long and slow to show the calm in the scene. this puts the audience in a state where they feel comfortable from the audience of balance for what is about to come. the calm before the storm.
Editing is used in particularly well with the use of straight cuts. the straight cuts allow the audience to follow the narrative of the story clearly making the details of the story extra punctuated, allowing the viewer to keep up with the narrative makes the story effective and scares the audience more psychologically as the cut gives time to think about the going on of the situation.
manipulation of editing makes the effectiveness of the scene all the better as fast editing is used when Casey is being attacked. the speed of the editing is sped up to illustrate an empathise the magnitude of the danger and struggle. the speed creates a sense of adrenaline for the audience and thrill.
Mise en scene
Mise en scene contains 5 elements. These elements are costume setting iconography lighting and colour and finally body language and facial expression. these elements are everything that is put on stage to create a genre making a believable world.
the use of mise en scene is the step to constructing a realistic film world. Costume is important in identifying the antagonist from protagonist In this scene we have our victim the protagonist Casey in a white sweater representing purity and innocence, the audience reaction to this would be positive and be forced to care about her due to the white costume being conventional in a thriller to be the protagonist Our antagonist ghost face killer is dressed in the conventional black colours signifying evil. The fact that our villain wears a mask is important to the narrative as the hidden identity creates mystery and a sense of uncertainty of who could be the killer and the true main motive(s).
the use of lighting in the scene is effectively done through natural and low-key lighting. throughout the first half of the scene we have a lot of natural lighting this makes the shot look very natural and becomes what we expect to see outside of the film world. this is used so we see the scene to be realistic, amplifying the real danger in her life. the audience respond to the lighting positively as it makes the scene easier to follow the narrative structure. for the second half of the scene as the pace of the story speeds up we see the use of low key lighting this is used to add mystery to the scene through the use of multiple shadows. low key lighting is conventional to a thriller so its no surprise that the technique is used here. as this is conventional to a thriller the audience automatically respond to this with excitement and adrenaline.
Mise en scene is everything on set/stage and the location is just as important as what is inside the scene. the setting in the scene is set in 2 locations these are inside a house and outside the house. the location being a house shows normality which then scares the audience due to the fact that of the home being unpredictable. the setting of the outside of the house is very natural an become a scene the audience sees of an every day life and gives them understanding and relate to what is occurring.
editing techniques are used in films to make the film fit together and more interesting. techniques like cuts can be used to make transitions more fluid and appealing to the eye. the pace of the editing can be modified to create suspense and adrenaline.
Speed of editing
the speed of editing has the power to determine the mood of the scene whether it is a high octane high action scene or a dramatic love scene. the speed can build suspense in a scene in the length of a certain shot.
This scene involves a fight between bea and vernita from the film kill bill. in this scene the pace of the shots are exceedingly fast due to the amount of action in the shot. generally in a fight scene there is a lot of shots to highlight the action and high tempo.
in the end scene of the butterfly effect the audience see the main character in there happy ending. the pace of the shots was very slow and considerably less than the kill bill scene in comparison, as the butterfly effect scene has 12 slow cuts whereas the kill bill fight scene has 20+ within the 1st minute.
Film trailer
A film trailer is a magnificent way to allow the audience to connect to the movie. the wide variety of techniques used in the trailer enables the audience to get a sample of how the experience of watching the the film would be and appears appealing.this is in fact a good way of advertisement.
The trailer Lockout captures many of the techniques used in editing to make the trailer as effective as it is such as fade to black. evidence of this is when we get to an outer space shot and is used continuously after that. As this is a trailer the use of fading in and out is used well as this effect is used usually to introduce something and since the trailer is used to advertise it can be said the fade to blacks introduce the film to the audience. the audience respond to the edits as if they where introductions and makes the viewers intrigued
Psycho uses basic camera shots and the dissolve effect this may be because of the lack of technology back in the day. the use of straight cuts may amplify the simplicity of the attack. and make the scene more realistic as there are no big cuts to make edits noticeable.
the jump cut in this scene is used for the fact that the editing represents his emotion. it shows how his mind is all over the place and does not have a calmhead. A jump cut is also used to save time
the editing in this clip from the film V for Vendetta is a final fight scene and uses multiple editing techniques gradually building tension until it peaks and creates an exciting scene. straight cuts and slow editing are used at the start as they talk so that the audience understands the context of what is happening this allows the viewer to follow the scene easily intensifying the scene
when editing my thriller it will be important to remember this when constructing clips as each cut transition or effect will have an impact on how the viewer percieves whats going on
The clip "Mr and Mrs Smith: Final shootout" uses every type of sound defined below.
Sound
Sound in
a film is used to create an atmosphere in the scene or communicate on screen.
Also this will give the audience a better understanding of the character and
there feelings. For example in a scene where there is an argument the dialogue
used will help the viewer understand the anger of a character through the
speech and tone the words are at.
Diegetic sound:
Diegetic
sound, is sound which part of the film universe sound inside the scene weather
it is dialogue on screen or music from a sound system off screen. explosions in the clip came from real explosion in the scene. part of the film world.
Non-Diegetic sound:
Non-diegetic
sound is sound which comes from editing the clip. Sound which does not come
from onscreen but from after scene shooting added sound effects. For example
music is used to build up tension that comes from editing off a computer. there is a backing track to the clip thats been put into to make the scene interesting
The saw theme tune effectively creates atmosphere and tension being non diegetic sound making the scene effective.
On screen sound:
This is
any noise that comes from on screen and the viewer can visibly see where the
sound is on screen. An example of this is a radio on screen making a broadcast. In the clip we see mr an mrs smith shooting weapons and we hear the sound of gun fire
Off screen sound:
this type
of sound is where we can hear the sound in the scene but cannot determine where
its coming from, for example a scene in a cafe with a shot between two
characters but we hear other voices in the background of the scene although we
don’t know where exactly its coming from it makes sense. of screen we hear enemy gun fire but we do not know exactly where from but it still makes sense ane the scene effective
the off screen sound used in this clip is banes voice suprising the audience and pumping up the adrenaline and intensifying the scene
Parallel sound:
This is the sound we expect to
hear in a scene for example in a traffic jam we expect to hear the sound of
people using horns and engines runnin. in the clip they use gunfire to match the action in the scene. we hear the sound of a missle travel past off screen and then comes onto screen.
contrapuntal sound:
this is sound that has no meaning to the scene where it does not match up on screen. for example happy music when theres chaos. during the clip there is loads of chaos and fighting yet the music track playing is soft a melow.
the mr and mrs smith finall shootout is made more epic due to the confusing soundtrack that has no relevance to whats going on opening up the mind to the choas in contrast to the calm melody.
Analyasis
in this scene the use of sound is what makes half of the scene as the use of contrapuntal sound is used to put into perspective the volume of destruction that is happening. the tune mondo bongo is rather relaxing but the action doesnt allow the viewer to, putting the audience in a unfamiliar mood making the scene an epic rollercoaster.
Sound in mr and mrs smith is used effectivly such as off screen sound. as the sound of gun fire is clear but not where the location is from. this gives us a sense of how they must feel through the sound side of things. this makes the audience feel involved in the scene and makes it all the more enjoyable experience due to emotions the sound evokes such as terror and adrenaline.
Conclusion
in conclusion the use of sound will play a important part in creating my thriller as the dialouge is limited so i would need to make good use on different types of sound other than diegetic.
